A form of
citizenship (nationality). The provisions on citizenship are contained in the
British Nationality Act 1981 (British Nationality Act 1981). Subjects formally
called those who were born before 1949 and had a relationship with the British
colony of India and the Republic of Ireland, but unofficially all Britons are
